Destination Weddings in Uttar Dinajpur: A Practical Checklist
More couples from Raiganj and Kolkata are choosing smaller destination weddings in and around Uttar Dinajpur — a riverside lawn, a tea bungalow near the Nepal border, or a family farmhouse with a marquee. It is a beautiful idea and a logistical one.
What a destination wedding changes
At home, if something is forgotten, someone drives back. At a destination venue, forgotten means gone. Your photographer should be part of that planning conversation, not booked at the last minute.
- A site visit or at least detailed photos of the venue and its light
- A generator and a backup generator in writing
- Accommodation for a crew that has to shoot at dawn
- A wet-weather plan, because the marquee is rarely fully sealed
- A dedicated charging station with a stable power point
Why the crew size usually grows
Destination weddings ask for more coverage, not less. Guests are gathered for two or three days, the venue is photogenic, and family portraits matter more because people travelled. We usually recommend one extra still camera and a dedicated film shooter.
At a destination wedding nobody runs home. That is the romance of it, and also the risk of it.
Our advice
Book the photographer before the decorator. The decorator can be replaced in a week; a photographer who knows how to shoot your venue in low light cannot. Send us the venue and dates and we will advise on crew, schedule and light.
We cover destination weddings anywhere in Uttar Dinajpur, and on request in Malda, Darjeeling and Siliguri.
