Nine questions that reveal everything

• Will you personally shoot my wedding, or send someone else?
• How many weddings will you shoot that week?
• What happens if a camera or card fails during the ceremony?
• Is the editing included, or is it charged per photograph?
• How many retouched images do we receive and in what size?
• When exactly is the delivery date, and is it in writing?
• Do you carry backup gear and a second shooter on call?
• Can we see a full wedding gallery, not just highlights?
• What is your policy if the wedding date changes?

The red flags

Be careful when a studio refuses to show a complete gallery, quotes a price without writing it down, or promises delivery within a week. Another quiet warning sign is a photographer who has never shot at your venue and does not ask a single question about the light there.

A wedding photographer you can talk to easily will photograph you easily. Comfort shows up in the pictures.

Trust the way you are treated

You will spend more hours with your photographer on your wedding day than with almost any other vendor. If a meeting feels rushed, if your questions are brushed aside, that feeling will repeat itself on the day. Choose the studio that listens.
